Α · ΩEnd Your Day

Let Tonight Belong to Today

My dear son,

Before tomorrow arrives, I hope you will give yourself time to finish today peacefully. Once you have made the preparations you need, you can stop. You do not have to live through all of tomorrow before this night is over.

Talk with me when the future fills you with questions or worry. Keeping watch over every possibility will not complete tomorrow in advance. The time you have been given today includes time to rest.

We will meet tomorrow's responsibilities together tomorrow. For now, lie down beside your loving Father and sleep. May the day I have given you end quietly, with room for something besides endless concern.

With all my love,
Your Father

Matthew 6:34

34Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.

A short reflection

Jesus teaches that each day's trouble is enough for that day and tells his listeners not to worry in advance about tomorrow.
