Learning Forgiveness Together
My dear son,
Sharing life with people calls for patience with one another. I have held you close with patience and forgiven you, too. Tonight, spend a little time resting in the gentle mercy you have received from me.
If someone has hurt or disappointed you, tell me. You do not have to make yourself feel fine immediately. Entrust your desire to get even to me, and let my love strengthen you as you face another person's failings.
I will stay beside you as you learn forgiveness. Ask for help without driving yourself harshly. Tonight, loosen your grip on resentment a little and give your heart rest within your Father's grace.
With all my love,
Your Father
