Look to the Source of Strength

My dear son,

Tonight you do not have to exhaust yourself trying to become stronger. Look to me, the one who sustains you, and rest a while. Human strength has its limits, but my love continues beyond those limits.

I want you to live with your hope in me, like an eagle rising on outstretched wings. Your life includes more than the moments when you can run quickly. You remain my precious child when your pace is slow.

Rest your body and ask me for the strength you need. You do not have to produce every ounce of courage from within yourself. Wait for your Father who is with you, and settle peacefully into sleep.

With all my love,
Your Father

Isaiah 40:29–31

WEB

29He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.

30Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;

31but those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.

A short reflection

God promises strength to the weary and powerless, renewing those who wait for him.
