The Father Who Feeds the Birds

My dear son,

Think about the care with which I feed the little birds in the sky. You are even more precious to me. I hope you will remember the worth of your life as you consider food, clothing, and daily needs.

Tell your Father honestly what you need. Prepare calmly where you can, and look with me for ways to receive help. My attention to you does not depend on how much you worry.

Tonight, do not measure yourself by the amount you possess. Your body and life are gifts more precious than that. Share your heart with the Father who remembers even the smallest creature, and gladly receive the rest you need.

With all my love,
Your Father

Matthew 6:25–26

25Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

26See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?

A short reflection

Jesus points to the Father's care in feeding the birds and teaches his listeners not to be consumed by worry about life and food.
