Known Even When You Cannot See
My dear son,
There may be times when you look in every direction and find it hard to sense me. Tell me your questions on those days, too. Your search does not need to be dressed up as unwavering certainty.
Even when you cannot find me, I know the path you are walking. I will not ignore your words and thoughts. You may speak honestly with your Father about things that reach beyond the explanations you have.
Tonight, let us leave room for answers that have not yet come. When you encounter someone else's difficulty, listen first. Entrust today's path to the Father who knows you, and let your heart rest a little.
With all my love,
Your Father
Job 23:8–10
WEB8“If I go east, he is not there. If I go west, I can’t find him.
9He works to the north, but I can’t see him. He turns south, but I can’t catch a glimpse of him.
10But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out like gold.
A short reflection
Job says that although he cannot find God, God knows his way and that, if tested, he would come forth like pure gold.
