Even While You Rest

My dear son,

You may set aside today's work now. When night comes, your body needs rest, and I want you to receive it. There is something I want you to remember: you can depend on me while you are sleeping, too.

I watch over you without growing drowsy or falling asleep. My care does not stop when your eyes close. Set down beside me the feeling that everything depends on your constant effort.

Put your devices away and lie down comfortably. If something remains unfinished, tell me about it and leave it with me for a while. Your Father keeps watch through the night; receive the rest you need.

With all my love,
Your Father
