Α · ΩEnd Your Day

In the Hands That Made You

My dear son,

Tonight I want to tell you that I love you, the one I made with my own hands. Your life is no passing interest to me. Share this day with me, relying on my enduring love.

When the way is difficult, you may ask me to sustain you and hold you steady. You do not have to understand the meaning of every part of the journey before you come. Your Father reaches out to care for you.

Let gratitude and requests share tonight's prayer. I want to hear your honest heart. Entrust what remains to the hands of the Father who made you, and let your body rest comfortably.

With all my love,
Your Father

Psalms 138:7–8

WEB

7Though I walk in the middle of trouble, you will revive me. You will stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies. Your right hand will save me.

8The LORD will fulfill that which concerns me. Your loving kindness, LORD, endures forever. Don’t forsake the works of your own hands.

A short reflection

The psalmist trusts God to preserve him in trouble, praises his enduring love, and asks him not to forsake the work of his hands.
