Teach Me Tomorrow's Steps

My dear son,

Before a new morning comes, I would like to talk with you about the way ahead. Tell me what you hope to do tomorrow and how you hope to live. Let my love for you help open that day.

You may share your desire for your plans to succeed. Along with that desire, ask what accords with my will. Rely on my good Spirit as you learn the path of honesty and kindness.

Treasure what you have learned today, and take time to ask about what you do not know. I welcome your trusting heart. Leave tomorrow's path with me, and bring this day to a peaceful close.

8Cause me to hear your loving kindness in the morning, for I trust in you. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, for I lift up my soul to you.
9Deliver me, LORD, from my enemies. I flee to you to hide me.
10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.

A short reflection

The psalmist asks to hear God's love in the morning, learn the path and will of God, and be guided by his good Spirit.
