Your Portion Is With Me
My dear son,
Tonight I want to remind you that I am holding your hand. Our relationship matters to me more than how much you possess. I hope you, too, will enjoy the simple gift of being beside me.
When your body or heart grows weak, I can be your rock. I want to guide you well and help you feel at home within my love. Trust the hand that holds yours, and tell me what you are thinking.
At the end of today, count more than your gains and losses. Being with your Father is also a precious part of your life. Let your heart settle beside me and quietly entrust the night to my care.

WEB23Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand.
24You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25Whom do I have in heaven? There is no one on earth whom I desire besides you.
26My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
A short reflection
The psalmist trusts the God who holds and guides him, declaring that even when body and heart fail, God remains his strength and portion forever.
