Rest Beside a Gentle Heart
My dear son,
Night has come. Set down the day's work and come to me. You do not need to begin by explaining how much you accomplished. I am your Father, and I want you to catch your breath and feel at home with me.
On days when life feels heavy, share the weight with me. Rest slowly in the gentleness of Jesus. Listen for my loving invitation amid the voices urging you to keep pushing.
There is no need to hurry tonight. I enjoy the time you spend beside me. As you learn to depend on me in daily life, let rest be part of that life as well. Lie down in peace.
