Grace from His Fullness
My dear son,
I wonder what kind of Father you imagine me to be. If you want to know me, look closely at Jesus' words and life. The Son who is close to my heart makes me known, full of grace and truth.
Do not count my love only as payment for what you accomplish. Enjoy receiving grace upon grace. I want gratitude, rather than a sense of debt you must repay, to draw you close to me.
I am glad you have come this morning wanting to know me. Stay awhile with Jesus' tenderness and truth. May your joy deepen as you come to understand my heart. I want to give you grace freely today.
With all my love,
Your Father
John 1:16–18
WEB16From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.
17For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ.
18No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.
A short reflection
John says that grace and truth come through Jesus Christ and that the Son, close to the Father's heart, makes God known.
