What Would You Like Me to Do?
My dear son,
I want to hear what you desire in your own voice. Jesus stopped before the man calling from beside the road and asked what he wanted him to do. The man answered plainly that he wanted to see.
You do not need elaborate language for your requests either. Tell me calmly what you need, what you want to understand, and what brings you gratitude. Prayer is time to share your heart with me, without concealing it.
If you help someone today, first listen to their own words. Ask what they want instead of deciding for them. Begin this day with me by treating each person's voice as something precious.
With all my love,
Your Father
Luke 18:40–43
WEB40Standing still, Jesus commanded him to be brought to him. When he had come near, he asked him,
41“What do you want me to do?” He said, “Lord, that I may see again.”
42Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight. Your faith has healed you.”
43Immediately he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God. All the people, when they saw it, praised God.
A short reflection
Jesus asks a blind man what he wants, restores his sight, and the man follows him while glorifying God.
