The One Who Came Back to Say Thanks

My dear son,

When something good happens, pause long enough to enjoy it. One of those Jesus healed turned back to thank him. He did not simply hurry toward the next task; he responded to the grace he had received.

I want to hear your gratitude too. It need not concern something dramatic. Share the small gifts of your day with me: good food, a kindness offered, someone to spend time with. Let yourself fully express the gladness you feel.

If someone helps you today, tell them specifically what you appreciated. A sincere word can become a moment of shared joy. I want you to enjoy both receiving kindness and giving thanks for it.

With all my love,
Your Father

Luke 17:14–16

WEB

14When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” As they went, they were cleansed.

15One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.

16He fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan.

A short reflection

As ten men with leprosy go to the priests at Jesus' instruction, they are cleansed. One, a Samaritan, returns to praise God and thank Jesus.
