Let Faith Keep Its Flavor
My dear son,
As salt brings its flavor to food, I want your faith to become present in daily life. May the lips that speak of loving me and the hands that care for people move in the same direction.
Listen afresh today, even to words you have heard often. Be honest where honesty is needed, and give your heart where love is possible. You do not have to search for an extraordinary occasion to follow me.
Tell me about the small choices ahead this morning. If you notice a gap between your words and actions, begin bringing them together again. I want the true flavor of faith to remain in your life for years to come.
With all my love,
Your Father
Luke 14:34–35
WEB34“Salt is good, but if the salt becomes flat and tasteless, with what do you season it?
35It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile. It is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
A short reflection
After teaching about discipleship, Jesus warns that salt without flavor is useless and calls those with ears to listen.
