The Tenderness of Being Called Daughter

My dear son,

Your voice matters to me even in a crowd. Jesus called the woman who trembled as she told her story his daughter. He did more than acknowledge her healing; he welcomed her personally and tenderly. You are that precious to me too.

You do not need polished words before coming near. Tell me what you want to say in your own voice. Bring your gratitude and requests freely. You are not an unnamed person passing unnoticed among many others.

Receive my tenderness this morning. When someone shares their story with you, treasure their voice as well. Let this be a day when you and others have time to hear each other fully.

With all my love,
Your Father

46But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me.”

47When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

48He said to her, “Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

A short reflection

After a healed woman trembles and explains why she touched him, Jesus calls her daughter and speaks of her faith, restoration, and peace.
