Faith That Carries Someone Together

My dear son,

You do not always need to know the right words for someone you love. Like the people who carried a man on his bed to Jesus, you can offer your hands. When their way was blocked, they found another way together.

Please do not think of love only as an enormous responsibility you must carry alone. Listening beside someone or sharing a small practical burden matters too. I treasure the faith and kindness that people bring together.

Jesus saw their faith and spoke forgiveness. Entrust yourself and the people you cherish to me today. Offer the love your own hands can give, and speak to me about what is beyond your strength.

With all my love,
Your Father

Luke 5:18–20

WEB

18Behold, men brought a paralyzed man on a cot, and they sought to bring him in to lay before Jesus.

19Not finding a way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop and let him down through the tiles with his cot into the middle before Jesus.

20Seeing their faith, he said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”

A short reflection

People lower a paralyzed man through a roof before Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus declares that the man's sins are forgiven.
