Stay Close to the Vine
My dear son,
Think about a branch attached to a grapevine. It does not produce life through isolated effort. It receives life from the vine and bears fruit. I want you to spend this day remaining in Jesus that way.
Before you set out to accomplish things, let your heart rest in his love. Listen to his word, pray, and share the love you learn with someone close by. Even amid your work, keep your connection with Christ close.
Do not exhaust yourself trying to produce fruit quickly on your own. Treasure the time you spend near me. As you live in Christ, your Father will tend the growth of love and goodness in your life.
With all my love,
Your Father
John 15:5
WEB5I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
A short reflection
Jesus compares himself to a vine and his disciples to branches that bear fruit by remaining in him.
