Your Part in Making Peace
My dear son,
I hope you will live peacefully with the people you meet today. You cannot change everyone's mind, but you can choose your own words and actions with care.
If there is a misunderstanding, explain calmly. If you have done wrong, acknowledge it. A conversation does not have to end with your victory. Listening first and showing respect are meaningful ways to contribute to peace.
Do not take complete responsibility for how every relationship turns out. Seek peace as far as you are able, and entrust what lies beyond your control to me. Your Father values even the calm, thoughtful word you add to a conversation today.
With all my love,
Your Father
