Remembering Laughter Together

My dear son,

I know the joy of the exiles who returned home with laughter and songs. Their shared happiness at a restoration that felt like a dream was precious. I want you, too, to enjoy the grace you have received for a long time.

Tell me about a day you remember with gratitude. It can be an extraordinary event or simply a moment of shared laughter. Telling a joyful story welcomes past love into the present again.

You might share that gratitude with someone today. Tell me your current hopes, too, as we begin the day together. When laughter rises to your lips and gratitude settles in your heart, I am glad to share those moments with you.

With all my love,
Your Father

Psalms 126:1–3

WEB

1When the LORD brought back those who returned to Zion, we were like those who dream.

2Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”

3The LORD has done great things for us, and we are glad.

A short reflection

The community remembers the dreamlike joy, laughter, and praise that accompanied God's restoration of Zion's exiles and celebrates the great things he did.
