Where Your Eyes Rest

My dear son,

Your heart often lingers where your eyes linger. Let us talk about what you want to look toward today. A joyful life does not require possessing every bright and appealing thing that catches your attention.

I do not want endless desire to pull your heart along. Value the people already beside you and the work entrusted to you. Enjoy good things, and keep my word close so those things do not become your heart's master.

Let some things pass, and give your full love to what deserves loving today. When choosing is difficult, ask me. I want to see you walk the right path with fresh energy and eyes free to notice what matters.

With all my love,
Your Father

36Turn my heart toward your statutes, not toward selfish gain.

37Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways.

A short reflection

The petitioner asks for a heart inclined toward God's testimonies instead of greed and eyes turned from worthless things toward renewed life in God's ways.
