Faithfulness in Small Things
My dear son,
Treat the small things before you today with care. Do not postpone faithfulness until something more important comes along. Even a borrowed possession or a brief promise gives you a chance to show what is in your heart.
Be honest in places where no one is watching. Before asking whether a task is large enough to attract notice, attend faithfully to what has been entrusted to you. Your Father values that kind of care.
You do not need an impressive achievement to report at day's end. A day spent keeping small promises and respecting what belongs to others is precious. Enjoy the quiet satisfaction of being trustworthy with today's responsibilities.
With all my love,
Your Father

A short reflection
Jesus teaches that faithfulness or dishonesty in small matters also reveals itself in larger ones.
