Singing of Morning Joy
My dear son,
As morning light follows the night, I want you to greet today looking toward my grace. My favor is not a passing affection that quickly disappears. Even when I correct you, I do not withdraw my love.
On joyful days, sing my name freely. When tears come, bring me your heart just as it is. I want to be the Father who shares every day with you, including the days when a smile will not come.
You do not need to force yourself into a different mood before coming. Take my hand as you look toward the joy of morning. I want to begin this day with you within the grace that stays.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 30:4–5
WEB4Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of his. Give thanks to his holy name.
5For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
A short reflection
The psalmist calls the faithful to praise God's holy name, comparing brief anger and enduring favor to a night of tears followed by morning joy.
