Welcomed as an Honored Guest
My dear son,
I want you to sit gladly at the table I have prepared for you. You are a welcome guest in my home. As a host honors a treasured visitor with oil and a full cup, I receive you warmly.
Whatever others may think, your place before me is precious. You do not need to watch anxiously for the moment you might be sent away. Share life with me, trusting my goodness and steadfast love.
When you eat a meal today, remember the love that cares for you. If you have an opportunity to welcome someone else, help them feel at ease. I want to share with you the warmth of belonging in my house.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 23:5–6
WEB5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over.
6Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the LORD’s house forever.
