Hope That Is Not Forgotten

My dear son,

I see the circumstances of the poor even where other people's attention never reaches. A quiet voice does not escape my hearing, and I do not forget the hope of someone who is oppressed. My love does not follow wealth.

Please do not brush aside the needs of people you meet today. Even if you cannot offer much, listening and helping someone look for a way forward matter. And when you need help, you can reach out, too.

May this be a day when you remember one another. Make room beside you for someone who feels unseen. I want to share with you the care I have for the people I love.

With all my love,
Your Father

Psalms 9:18

WEB

18For the needy shall not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the poor perish forever.

A short reflection

While singing of judgment against evil and injustice, the psalmist affirms that the poor will not remain forgotten and the hope of the oppressed will not perish.
