Take Up the Towel

My dear son,

Let your hands express love along with your words today. As Jesus wrapped a towel around himself and washed the disciples' feet, some kinds of help reach people only when you move to offer them.

Whatever responsibility you hold, you can bend down to care for someone. Doing a small task does not diminish your dignity. Put love into preparing what is needed and helping finish the work beside you.

Offer service that honors another person's life and allows them to receive it with dignity. Listen for what they need, and gladly do your part. Your Father delights in a day when your own hands follow the love Jesus showed.

With all my love,
Your Father

14If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.

15For I have given you an example, that you should also do as I have done to you.

A short reflection

After washing the disciples' feet, Jesus teaches them to serve one another according to the example he has given as their Lord and Teacher.
