Love in the Place of Service
My dear son,
Consider whom your abilities and responsibilities can serve today. I hope you discover deep joy in helping another person flourish, beyond the satisfaction of directing what others do.
Jesus followed the path of serving and giving his life. Look to that love as you share your time. Your worth does not diminish when you take care of a task that attracts no notice.
Ease someone's burden today, or listen all the way through their story. You can love where you are without waiting for a more prominent position. Your Father treasures the willingness to step close to another person's needs and serve with an open heart.
With all my love,
Your Father
Matthew 20:26–28
WEB26It shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant.
27Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant,
28even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
A short reflection
Jesus teaches that greatness means serving others, following his example of coming to serve and give his life.
