Keep Asking as You Walk

My dear son,

If you need something, ask your Father. I am not bothered by your knocking at my door. Like a parent who would never give a stone to a child asking for bread, I want to give you good things.

Tell me honestly what you desire and what you are seeking. Ask for wisdom and help as you explore the way ahead. A prayer that feels small or awkward will not make me turn you away.

Keep asking and seeking with trust today. Do your part faithfully, and continue our conversation. As you learn what is good for you, lean on the goodness of your Father's heart.

With all my love,
Your Father

Matthew 7:7–11

WEB

7“Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.

8For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

9Or who is there among you who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?

10Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent?

11If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

A short reflection

Jesus urges his followers to ask, seek, and knock, trusting that their Father gives good things to those who ask.
