An Honest Step toward Reconciliation
My dear son,
As you worship me today, consider your relationships as well. When you bring something good before me, remain willing to hear someone you have hurt. How you treat that person matters to your Father.
If an apology is needed, begin with acknowledgment before explanation. Say clearly what you did wrong, and accept the responsibility you can carry. A desire for reconciliation can also be shown in your willingness to listen.
Even if the person does not respond immediately, do your own part sincerely. Let the lips that speak love to me speak truthfully to your neighbor. Ask your Father for courage, and give your relationships thoughtful care today.
With all my love,
Your Father
Matthew 5:23–24

24leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
A short reflection
Jesus teaches that someone who remembers a broken relationship while offering a gift should first seek reconciliation and then return.
