The Journey in Your Heart

My dear son,

Tell me where your heart is heading today. Begin with the joy of worship, like a pilgrim setting out to meet me. Ask your Father for the strength to walk the road before you.

Some stretches are easy; others pass through valleys. Wherever you are, keep your heart turned toward me. Just as travelers share water and encourage one another, you can share your heart with companions on the path of faith.

Receive the strength I give, like finding a spring even in a valley of tears. Alongside noticing how far you travel today, remember whom you are moving toward. Your Father treasures your journey toward him.

With all my love,
Your Father

Psalms 84:5–7

WEB

5Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on a pilgrimage.

6Passing through the valley of Weeping, they make it a place of springs. Yes, the autumn rain covers it with blessings.

7They go from strength to strength. Every one of them appears before God in Zion.

A short reflection

The psalm celebrates pilgrims who find strength in God and travel through valleys toward his presence, growing stronger along the way.
