Company That Refreshes the Heart
My dear son,
There may be someone whose arrival alone brings you joy. Time spent laughing together or talking quietly can refresh your heart. Paul welcomed three visitors with gladness and wanted others to recognize the value of their care.
I hope you will see people as more than their ability to solve a problem. Taking time to visit and listen is precious love, too. Simply staying close with kindness can make you a gift to one another.
Tell me about a face you remember with gratitude. When you meet again, you may express how glad you are to see them. This evening, enjoy both receiving love and offering someone a comfortable, welcoming place beside you.
With all my love,
Your Father
1 Corinthians 16:17–18
WEB17I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus; for that which was lacking on your part, they supplied.
18For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge those who are like that.
A short reflection
Paul says the visit of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus refreshed his spirit and the Corinthians' spirits, and asks that such people be recognized.
