The Promise Not to Leave You Alone
My dear son,
I do not want you to live as though you have been abandoned. Before his departure, Jesus promised that he would not leave the disciples as orphans. You, too, may lean upon that love as you live.
Because Jesus lives, those who trust him will live, sharing the life that joins them to the Father and the Son. I want you to know a love deeper than a relationship that stays briefly and then breaks away.
If time alone is peaceful, enjoy that quiet. If you need someone's company, you may share your heart. On every kind of evening, your place as a beloved child remains precious. Let yourself rest comfortably in my presence.
With all my love,
Your Father

WEB18I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.
19Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also.
20In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
A short reflection
Jesus promises not to leave the disciples as orphans. He will come to them, and because he lives, they will live and know their relationship with him and the Father.
