Listen to My Beloved Son
My dear son,
On the mountain, I told the disciples to listen to my beloved Son. Following the love and truth Jesus taught mattered more than holding onto the extraordinary sight they had witnessed. His words were to guide the way they lived.
When you want to know me better, draw close to Jesus' words. Take time to notice how he loved people and what he treasured. As you look carefully, you can begin to understand more of my heart.
Tonight, you might rest while slowly reading one saying of Jesus that has stayed with you. I delight in seeing you listen attentively. There is no need to rush; keep coming to know what your Father is like over the course of your life.

8Suddenly looking around, they saw no one with them any more, except Jesus only.
A short reflection
At the transfiguration, God speaks from the cloud, calling Jesus his beloved Son and commanding the disciples to listen to him. They then see Jesus alone with them.
