A Heart That Follows the Call
My dear son,
Jesus called people casting their nets beside the Sea of Galilee to become his disciples. He did not call them because they already did everything well. He invited them to walk with him and learn a life of loving people.
Do not think you must become perfect before you can follow me. When you give your attention to my words rather than only to familiar things you hold onto, the direction of your life can begin to change.
I want your hands to do more than stay busy; I want them to honor the people they serve. Tell me tonight about the life you hope to move toward. Your willingness to live by my teaching is precious to me.
With all my love,
Your Father
Mark 1:16–18
WEB16Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.
17Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”
18Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.
A short reflection
