A Heart Opened to Scripture

My dear son,

When you read the Bible, I want you first to encounter the love I have shown you, rather than only looking for tasks to perform. Jesus' suffering and resurrection are not a story with no connection to your life.

As I opened the disciples' understanding to that love, depend on me as you learn from Scripture. The good news of turning from sin and receiving forgiveness was never set aside for just a few people to keep.

My love is wide enough to be proclaimed to every nation. Look at yourself and your neighbors within that love. Even when you cannot understand everything you have read today, I gladly welcome your desire to know me.

With all my love,
Your Father

45Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.

46He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

47and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

A short reflection
