A Life Woven Together

My dear son,

I treasure relationships in which people can lean on one another. You do not have to handle everything alone to be a worthy person. I want you to be able to offer help, receive it freely, and share your happy days with others.

Two people can keep each other warm and stand stronger together. Just as a cord of three strands is not easily broken, people grow stronger through mutual care. Trust those who are dear to you, and be honest about the help you can give and need.

If a friend or neighbor comes to mind tonight, let us give thanks for them. You may lean on someone, too. It brings me joy to see you sharing the warmth of life with others.

With all my love,
Your Father

Ecclesiastes 4:11–12

WEB

11Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one keep warm alone?

12If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

A short reflection

Ecclesiastes describes the warmth and strength of companionship, comparing it to a three-stranded cord that is not easily broken.
