Setting the Table with Peace

My dear son,

Even a dry piece of bread can warm the heart when shared with someone kind. I hope that kind of peace lives at your table. Sitting together with a glad welcome for each other's faces is a precious gift.

Even an abundant feast is difficult to enjoy when the only words exchanged are quarrels. Alongside what else to put on the table, consider how to care for the people sitting there. A simple meal can hold plenty of love.

Give thanks for the food and rest you enjoyed tonight. Appreciate the effort of preparing it and the kindness nearby. May my child discover, even in an ordinary meal, the happiness of loving and being loved.

With all my love,
Your Father

1Better is a dry morsel with quietness, than a house full of feasting with strife.

A short reflection
