Wisdom Shared at the Right Time

My dear son,

I enjoy your excitement when you tell me something new you have learned, and I enjoy seeing you listen to others. As your knowledge grows, keep your ears open too. I want what you know to serve people kindly.

A prudent person understands that everything they know need not be said at once. They consider what is needed now and leave room for another person to speak. I hope you gladly learn that unhurried wisdom.

There is no need to rush your conversation with me tonight. Let us enjoy your discoveries and share your questions. Receive the joy of knowing that love can be expressed even in the quiet work of listening.

With all my love,
Your Father

Proverbs 12:23

WEB

23A prudent man keeps his knowledge, but the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.

A short reflection

Proverbs teaches that the prudent know how to keep knowledge in reserve, while fools broadcast the folly in their hearts.
