Truthful Words That Last
My dear son,
I am glad when you speak honestly. It is all right to say that you do not know. Your worth does not shrink because you cannot explain everything now, so bring your real heart into our conversation.
A lie may ease a moment, but truthful words endure. I hope words that can be trusted over time accumulate between you and your neighbors. I also treasure the courage it takes to correct something you said wrongly before.
As today's conversation closes, tell me what is true in your heart. I am a Father who loves the real you more than a polished appearance. Tomorrow, continue learning a life in which your words and actions fit together.
With all my love,
Your Father
