Come and Rest Awhile
My dear son,
You may rest for a while now. As your Father, I value the time you spend caring for your body alongside the time you spend serving people and doing your work. Come somewhere quiet and settle comfortably tonight.
Give yourself time to eat slowly, drink water, and catch your breath. My love for you includes wanting you to rest enough. You are precious to me while you are still, too.
Find a comfortable place and let your shoulders relax. Once you have considered what truly needs finishing today, the rest may wait. Share a quiet, tender evening with the Father who cherishes you as you rest.
With all my love,
Your Father
Mark 6:30–32
WEB30The apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught.
31He said to them, “Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.
A short reflection
When the apostles report their ministry and have no time even to eat, Jesus invites them to a quiet place to rest awhile.
