A Night When You Can Ask for Comfort
My dear son,
How welcome a steadying hand feels when your foot begins to slip. I want you to rely on my love that way in your life. When your heart is troubled, tell me what is happening.
I do not want to hurry you through a night full of thoughts. Share them one at a time, and I will listen. Lean on me awhile, letting my comfort find a place in your heart. Your Father is close.
If today has been peaceful, enjoy that ease. If someone nearby has many worries, listen to them as well. Let your body and mind rest tonight in the love that comforts you and holds you steady.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 94:18–19
WEB18When I said, “My foot is slipping!” Your loving kindness, LORD, held me up.
19In the multitude of my thoughts within me, your comforts delight my soul.
