End the Day in Prayer
My dear son,
I am glad you have made time to talk with me as this day ends. Tell me in your own words what you are thankful for and what you are hoping for. Your prayer does not have to be polished for me to hear your heart.
When a worry comes to mind, ask for my help instead of going around it alone. Share the moments of gratitude, too. Lean on me and receive the peace that guards your heart and thoughts in Jesus.
You do not have to understand and resolve everything before you sleep. Leave tonight's prayer with me. May the peace of being with your loving Father accompany you through the night.
With all my love,
Your Father
Philippians 4:6–7
WEB6In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
A short reflection
Paul teaches that prayer offered with thanksgiving brings God's peace to guard believers' hearts and minds in Christ.
