Open the Word toward Life
My dear son,
I hope reading Scripture this morning can be a glad part of your day. You need not begin by counting how much you read. Slowly meet the stories written so that you may know who Jesus is, believe, and receive life.
Even a short passage lets you notice how Jesus speaks to people and acts toward them. Keep what stays with you close, and ask again about what puzzles you. I want our closeness to deepen as you turn the pages.
Tell me one thing you discovered in today's reading. Let its gladness enter a small action too. May time spent trusting Jesus become an experience of life's joy for you.
With all my love,
Your Father
John 20:30–31
WEB30Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book;
31but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.
A short reflection
John explains that the Gospel records selected signs so readers may believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and have life in his name.
