Prayer That Reaches an Enemy

I want your love to reach beyond the people who are easy to be around. Jesus called his followers to do good to those who hate them and pray for those who mistreat them. I know this is a demanding invitation.

Before returning hatred with harsh words, tell me what is in your heart. You can ask that the other person turn from wrongdoing. You can keep a distance that protects you while still praying for goodness in their life.

There is no need to worry this morning about conflicts that have not happened. Simply resolve that hatred will not direct your words. Call on me whenever you need wisdom to love.
