A Conversation Wider Than Your Own Words
My dear son,
It is good to speak your thoughts honestly, and I hope you will also enjoy getting to know another person. A conversation offers more than the chance to deliver everything you prepared. It lets you encounter a heart you have not fully understood.
While someone is speaking, listen for their meaning instead of preparing only your next objection. Ask questions and check your understanding. A different opinion can still leave you something worth learning.
Offer someone a thoughtful question today. Share your own story freely, and value what you discover in theirs. May the joy of understanding one another more deeply grow within the conversations you have.
With all my love,
Your Father
