Looking at the Reasons in Your Heart
My dear son,
I know what you do and the heart within it. Even a choice that seems right to you can hold several desires at once. You need not select only your best motives when you talk with me.
Tell me honestly about wanting recognition or sincerely wanting to help. Looking without hiding gives you room to consider what deserves greater weight. I want your love to become more truthful and more deeply rooted.
If you plan something good today, ask whether it meets the recipient's actual need. Look gently at your heart as it is. Before me, the one who knows every motive, you can grow in honesty and remain deeply loved.
With all my love,
Your Father
Proverbs 16:2
WEB2All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the motives.
A short reflection
Proverbs says people may regard all their ways as pure, while the Lord weighs their motives and sees what is within.
