Speaking About What You Have Checked

My dear son,

When you explain something, the person listening may rely on your account to make a judgment. Speak honestly about what you saw, what you heard, and what you still do not know. Those distinctions matter.

You do not need to make uncertain details sound definite. If you do not remember clearly, say so. Truthful testimony grows from careful regard for facts, beyond the volume or confidence of the speaker.

When another person's name comes into your conversation today, use particular care. Examine secondhand information before passing it along. Ask me for wisdom so that your words become a trustworthy way for people to understand what is true.

With all my love,
Your Father

Proverbs 12:17
