Begin by Listening
My dear son,
Will you listen to me for a moment? As a father wants to show a good way to a beloved child, I want you to live wisely. The teaching I offer comes from a heart that cares about you.
Even something you think you know may offer new understanding when you hear it calmly. Ask again about what is unclear. You remain precious to me without standing before me as someone who has every answer.
If you have an opportunity to learn from someone today, open your heart. Keep good teaching close and put it into practice. I am glad to watch you grow as you listen and understand. Bring me your questions freely, too.
With all my love,
Your Father
