From My Prayer to Our Prayer
My dear son,
Tell me your prayer for protection and your desire to live uprightly. I am glad when you take refuge in me and come honestly before me. Your own circumstances are worth bringing to my attention.
Beside that prayer, place the names of the people who share your life. You can ask for my caring hand over them, too. It is beautiful when one person's earnest prayer grows into loving concern for neighbors.
Entrust yourself and those you love to me this morning. You cannot carry one another's entire lives, but you can pray and walk together. I am beside you as you seek the path that is right.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 25:20–22
WEB20Oh keep my soul, and deliver me. Let me not be disappointed, for I take refuge in you.
21Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.
22God, redeem Israel out of all his troubles.
A short reflection
The psalmist asks God to preserve his life and uphold his integrity, then widens the prayer to ask for Israel's deliverance from all its troubles.
