Draw Close and Serve

My dear son,

Notice whom you share life with today, beyond noticing who is ahead of whom. Do not give all your attention to ranking people. Your Father wants you to know the joy of serving someone beside you.

Listen to a person who has not had a chance to speak, and acknowledge another person's effort. Quietly share a task that needs doing. You remain precious even when you take the last place to help.

Jesus taught that anyone wanting to be first should serve everyone. Whatever your role, follow that love today. May the joy of loving deeply grow larger in your heart than the desire to rise higher.
