My Word in Ordinary Life
My dear son,
Rise today with a word of mine in your heart. Closing the book does not end our conversation. Whether you are sitting at home or walking somewhere, recall what you have heard within the life you are living.
Share its meaning naturally with someone close to you. If you teach a child, let your actions carry the same love as your words. Living it together can leave a lasting impression.
Do not set me aside for special hours only. Keep your Father close through meals, rest, and everyday conversations. Let my word remain in your heart today, and let what lives there reach the people around you.
With all my love,
Your Father
Deuteronomy 6:6–7
WEB6These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart;
7and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
A short reflection
Moses urges Israel to keep God's words in their hearts, teach them to their children, and speak of them throughout daily life.
